On my way to work, I rented a public bike. I noticed that a small adapter near the front had come loose, but I brushed it off, thinking, “It’s probably no big deal.” But something was wrong. Even though it was an electric bike, it felt as though I were powering it entirely on my own. Desperate not to be late for work, I pedaled as hard as I could. With every turn of the pedals, my legs grew weaker. It was not until I was halfway to my destination that I realized what was wrong. With the adapter disconnected, the motor’s power was not reaching the wheel. As soon as I connected the adapter, the bike moved forward with surprising ease. Whenever I have struggled along the wilderness of faith, it has always been God’s words that guided me onto the path of blessing. “Consider others better than yourselves.” “Love one another.” I reflect on whether I have taken these and other familiar teachings lightly simply because I hear them so often. I will always treasure Heavenly Mother’s teachings and put them into practice, becoming a child who presses forward with strength toward heaven.
