  • One hundred million people around the world take this medicine a day, and 60 billion of this medicine gets taken every year. It was the best selling medicine in 1950s; as a result, it was recorded in the Guinness World Records and got included in the first-aid medicine kit for Apollo spacecrafts. The long-term use of this medicine, which is effective for alleviating fever, pain, and inflammation, is helpful for preventing cardiac infarction and stroke. There is an anecdote that says that one prominent American doctor prescribed one pill of this medicine to Boris Yeltsin the first President of Russia when he suffered from heart disease. If you place this medicine inside a flower vase, it makes flowers wither less. It is called Aspirin.

By now, you may think that it must be a cure-all. However, depending on one’s physical constitution, some may suffer from the side effects of rash, fever, or difficulty in breathing. It may also cause a severe headache because it over-stimulates nerves if one uses it for a long time to alleviate his headache. Because of the inherent nature of aspirin, which dilutes blood by preventing blood clots from forming, those who take it for a long time may be vulnerable to a risky situation where gastrointestinal tract bleeds, or blood on incisions does not stop while having a surgery. No matter how good a medicine may be, it is not for everyone. Therefore, doctors prescribe the medicine after considering a patient’s age, physical constitution, and underlying medical conditions.

The Bible says that those who obey God’s word are blessed. Those who keep the Passover of the New Covenant wherever they may be, will receive the blessing of eternal life; if they keep the Day of Atonement, they receive the grace of forgiveness of sins. Every command that is constituted by God, including the seven feasts in three times, contains much blessing, and the blessing is granted to whoever keeps God’s laws and decrees without exception. It means that God considers the situation, circumstances, and the heart of each and every person, and gives beneficial words to all people, with His great love and affection toward humankind.
