Flowers of Zion

  • Last year, I planted a few lily roots which I received as a gift in flowerpots. The roots, which looked like dry, sooty onions, firmly sprouted in a month or two and put forth buds.

The flowers looked so beautiful that I tried to move them to Zion to show them to my brothers and sisters. Just in time, there were students at the front door, and they helped me move the flowers. I was just overjoyed at the thought of appreciating the lilies together with all, being unaware that muddy water was running down from the flowerpots which were out in the rain yesterday. Only after I put all the flowerpots in place, I found out the floor was covered all over with mud; I was flustered. Then the student brothers brought mops to clean the floor. Although no one forced them to clean the floor, they did it with the spirit of ownership. It was amazing and wonderful to see the student members gladly clean up the floor with great love for Zion.

Just like the ugly lily roots that blossom into magnificent flowers, making powerful stems with nutrients and energy drawn from the ground, the male student members who appeared young are rapidly growing, cherishing God’s infinite love and teachings in their heart. The beautiful, fragrant flowers were not the lilies but the student members of Zion.
