There is an old saying, “Fine clothes make the man,” which is not entirely wrong.
There was an interesting experiment that demonstrated what one wears influences his behavior. Adam Galinsky, a social psychologist, divided university students into two groups, and let one group of students wear white lab coats and the other group, street clothes; then he showed a screen which randomly displayed green and red colors with the words “green” and “red” at the bottom. He examined them on how well they notice incongruities when the color and the word are incongruent. As a result, the students in the doctor’s coat did twice as well as those who wore street clothes in noticing that the color and the word are incongruent. They performed much better in concentration simply because they wore the doctor’s coat.
The gospel workers who have accepted the truth are those who are clothed with Christ (Gal 3:27). Even though we may have lived as we pleased, let us now strive to follow the path of Christ who set for us the examples of love and humility. The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who live a holy life with a godly mind as a person who is clothed with Christ.
