Making Face Masks

  • We made face masks together in Zion, observing quarantine guidelines, to donate them to Denver City Hall in Colorado. Nothing was easy in the process. Getting cloths, making a drawing, sewing masks by machine, turning over the masks and ironing them, and getting rid of untidy bits of thread . . . we were all clumsy as we were doing them for the first time, but we helped one another wherever possible and diligently made them. Soon, we became cooperative and could easily tell what we each needed, just by looking one another in the eye.

We had planned to make 2,000 masks, but in the end we made 3,000 of them. Meanwhile, our brotherly and sisterly love too grew more. We were also happy to be able to help our neighbors who needed face masks.
