The moss lives in damp and shaded areas. It is stuck to the ground; so animals tread on them, walking around in forests. It looks insignificant, but once you learn its functions, you can easily realize God’s will contained in this little creature.
The moss retains water and nutrients in its entire body—its roots, stems, and leaves. The amount stored in the moss is five times its weight. As a result, the moss can make the soil fertile, and create a place where living things can sustain life. When it rains a lot, the moss prevents floods and the erosion of rivers; and when it doesn’t rain, it gives its stored water to prevent a drought.
Although the moss is small and weak, it is beneficial to the ecosystem. Through the moss, we can learn the mindset we need to have as Christians who deliver God’s love and the news of salvation with a humble mind.
