Executor of Heaven’s Will

  • I study law and had a recent lecture about wills.

A person’s properties are distributed according to his will if he drafted a will before he died. When a person makes a will, he must also appoint an executor who will be responsible for carrying out his wishes such as making funeral arrangements, locating all the relevant assets, and paying any debts of the deceased. At a time of mourning, the executor may be stressed with various administrative responsibilities and possibly a court appearance.

The executor must carry out the wishes of the deceased honestly, diligently, and fairly. If the executor fails to carry out his duty according to the will of the deceased, the court has the power to remove him and may appoint another executor to continue carrying out the deceased’s will. Being appointed as an executor can be seen as a great honor because usually people appoint someone who is trustworthy or competent as their executor.

Through this lecture, I realized that we are the spiritual executors to carry out God’s will. Before Heavenly Father went up to heaven, He gave us the last mission to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything He has commanded us (Mt 28:18-19). This precious mission was not entrusted to anyone else but to us. God approved us as executors to carry out His will. How glorious and thankful!

Physical executors have to carry out a will without expecting something in return, but God promised those who carry out His will the eternal glory of the kingdom of heaven and the royal priesthood. Thinking of the blessing, we can work fervently and joyfully for the gospel!

I truly give thanks to our Heavenly Father and Mother for allowing me to be Their executor in this age. I will surely carry out Their will to save seven billion people in the whole world.
