Isaiah 53 prophesies in detail the suffering God would endure when He comes to this earth in the flesh for our sins. As I read how He would be pierced, wounded, oppressed, and made to endure countless sorrows—and yet see the light of life and be satisfied—my heart grew heavy.
Who in this world would ever be satisfied with suffering? To think that He even regarded His afflictions as worthwhile for the sake of His children’s salvation filled me with sorrow and remorse. Heavenly Father, who bore the weight of our sins and prayed for us—once sinners in heaven—thank You for Your immeasurable love and sacrifice.
