One day in the middle of the rainy season, when I was walking with a sister, there was a sudden downpour of rain. We took shelter at the entrance of a nearby building, waiting for the rain to stop. “When will the rain stop? What if my sneakers get wet? Drying them can be challenging . . .” My face gradually hardened with worry. At that moment, the sister smiled brightly and said while pointing out the window, “Look at the raindrops dancing! It’s so beautiful. I’m thankful for the rain, because it’s cool and refreshing.” A few days later, there was torrential rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Everyone was startled by a sudden flash of light and loud thunder. This time, the sister said in a cheerful voice, “It seems like God is taking our picture. The sound of thunder is just like a camera shutter sound.” After I heard her say that, I felt less afraid of thunder and lightning. Sometimes, I looked up at the sky and smiled, remembering what the sister had said. I committed myself to helping our members blow their worries away by having positive thoughts and speaking gracious words according to God’s teachings, just as the sister did.
