Just as Every Stem Has a Different Thickness

  • While working on a farm, I noticed that the stems of cucumbers, mini cucumbers, and tomatoes differ noticeably in thickness.

Since they are grown in similar way, I had always thought of them as similar crops. However, the stems of mini cucumbers were thinner than those of regular cucumbers, while the tomato stems were nearly twice as thick.

A regular cucumber plant typically bears one fruit weighing about 250 grams at each node, while a mini cucumber plant produces one fruit of about 100 grams per node.

Tomato plants, on the other hand, often produce three or four fruits weighing around 150 grams each at every node—and sometimes as many as five.

If clusters of tomatoes were to grow on the slender stem of a mini cucumber plant, the stem would surely break under the weight.

He also gives each of us the strength we need to endure hardships and bear fruit in our own lives.

Just as God created each plant with a stem strong enough to support the fruit it bears,

Observing the wisdom woven into creation reminds me of Heavenly Father and Mother, who lovingly watch over us and help us every step of the way.
