I work as a speech therapist at a nursing hospital. Among patients who receive speech treatment, many of them underwent brain diseases and didn’t remember what happened in the past or their address to their present house, or even their names. However, even to them who forgot everything, there is one thing they never forget. That is the names of their children. When we asked them their children’s name, they answered right away without any hesitation.
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. (Isa 49:15–16)
When I see the parents remember their children’s names exactly even though they forget everything else, Heavenly Mother comes to my mind. Having engraved Her children’s names on the palms of Her hands, Mother is earnestly looking for Her children even at this moment. With all my heart, I give thanks to Mother for looking for Her last child with unceasing love.
