After my visit to Korea, I got on the airplane and recalled the memories in Korea: the words of Heavenly Mother who forgave me of unforgivable sins and the fragrances of Zion from all around the world, which inspired me to make a resolution to do the gospel with a renewed mind, united with my brothers and sisters. On the other hand, I was worried that I might somehow forget such precious realization and become the same as I had been before the visit.
I put aside such worries and took a seat. As I sat down, a flight attendant started to give out snacks to all the passengers. I wondered, ‘Do they give out snacks before take-off these days?’ When I took a closer look at the snacks, I noticed a letter attached to them. The snacks were prepared by the mother of a baby as gifts for the passengers.
Hello, everyone
My name is ○○○○. I’m thirteen months old.
Today, I’m having my first flight with my mom and dad to New York.
I might be scared and scream or cry.
But I will do my best to be a good boy.
I hope you will enjoy the snacks my mom and dad prepared. Enjoy your flight.
I read the letter over and over again, shedding tears, as I was reminded of Heavenly Mother who gave us constant love in the invisible world.
After a while, I saw the mother standing with her baby in her arms in front of my seat. Nestled in his mom’s arms, the baby looked innocent, unaware of what his mother did for him like preparing gifts and letters for the passengers. Looking at the baby, I reflected upon myself. A baby cries if he feels any discomfort, laughs again if others play with him, and throws tantrums if he gets bored. However, Heavenly Mother has always been patient with me with great love though I am full of faults. I felt ashamed of being unthankful to Heavenly Mother, not realizing Her great love of taking care of me in the invisible world.
During my visit, Heavenly Mother repeatedly said, “Everyone should become a mature child of God. Please obey God’s word 100% with 100% faith.”
And Mother read 1 Corinthians 13:11, “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.”
Now I feel that I can love Heavenly Mother 100%. Right at this moment, I pledge myself to become a mature child and to deliver Mother’s love to the world with 100% faith.
In the plane, the baby stayed calm and hardly caused any discomfort to passengers. I’m not sure if it was because the snacks that the mother gave me made me kind-hearted towards the baby, but other passengers, too, gave a big smile to the baby when he and his mom were passing by.
I think I will not eat but rather keep the snack for a long time. I want to cherish the realization it gave me, and feel the love of Heavenly Mother more and more through the fragrances of Zion from around the world. I will let go of all my worries that I would forget Heavenly Mother’s love and return to my previous self, and always cherish Mother’s love deep in my heart. I give thanks to God for allowing me to realize Heavenly Mother’s love through the mother of a baby.
