Thanks to Heavenly Father and Mother, I went to preach the gospel in Gorakhpur, northern India. It was my second gospel mission overseas, following the first one I did in Patna, Bihar, India. Gorakhpur was completely different from Patna. There were a large number of intellectuals, and women were free, and streets were clean.
One year before I went to Gorakhpur, the members from Korea and India went to preach there. I was told that some closed-minded Christians hindered their preaching. However, a public office chief watched their unlawful behaviors and rebuked them. Though he was a Hindu, he was moved by our members’ gentleness and good deeds and said, “I can easily see which group teaches the truth.” That way, they glorified God.
While listening to their story, I thought about why Heavenly Mother sent me to a place where it was difficult to preach the gospel. And I was reminded of the word of Father that He would come a second time. Two thousand years ago, Father was despised and mocked. However, He promised to come again because He loved His children greatly. If He hadn’t come to the earth a second time, not one of us would ever have a chance to be saved. That’s why Mother allowed the gospel to be preached once again in Gorakhpur. It was Mother’s will to give eternal life to the souls there. Realizing Mother’s deep love, I was thankful and glad for allowing me to receive the blessing of establishing Zion.
Being strengthened and fervent, I prayed to God to open the door to preaching and delivered God’s word. As I had to preach to only Christians, I had to be cautious at all times. Sometimes I was afraid, but some people I met at those times comforted me, saying, “You’re doing a good job. No matter who you preach to, never be afraid. I’ll help you.” I also met some people who said with admiration, “You’re doing such a wonderful work. Why did I not know the sure truth of God before?”
I met a professor and preached the gospel to him. “You are a great teacher when it comes to the Bible. You must have been excellently educated,” he said. When I heard him say that, I realized how blessed I was to have learned the truth of the Bible and met Heavenly Father and Mother who are the secrets of the Bible. Reminding myself that I’m preaching the gospel even the angels envy, I boasted about our Heavenly Father and Mother who are the greatest Teachers in the world.
Seeing Christians in Gorakhpur following pastors, not God’s will, I could feel that the region was spiritually barren and dark. I could once again confirm that I was entrusted with a great mission to enlighten the people about God’s will as a child of the Light and a religious reformer in the age of the Holy Spirit.
It was an invaluable period of time when I could be spiritually awakened, fill my lamp with oil of faith, and regain spiritual strength. It was an opportunity to bear good fruits, cherish God’s love and sacrifice, and renew my hope for heaven. I want to keep this great realization and keep my faith firm until the day we return to heaven. I truly give thanks to Heavenly Father and Mother for giving me great blessings.
