I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. (Rev 22:18–19)
In 1961, when Edward Lorenz, an American meteorologist, was in the middle of predicting meteorological changes with a vacuum-tube computer, he input values rounded to three decimal places. He omitted only a very few digits, but the results differed tremendously. The weather patterns were completely different from when all the digits after the decimal point were entered. Very little differences led to unexpected results.
Wouldn’t it be the same in the world of God? Even if an act of disobedience to God is as minor as a digit after the decimal point, it may cause irreversible results. The Bible is the book where God, who knows our spiritual state, recorded the words we need. I will completely be obedient to the words that God has given me, so that the disobedience that I thought wasn’t a big deal will not obstruct my way to Heaven.
