When the “Words of Mother's Love” campaign began, the phrase that touched me most was “You’ve worked hard.” I made it a goal to say it at least once a day and followed through.
One day, a member came to thank me. Her daughter, who plays piano for the choir, often grew exhausted after long rehearsals following work. That day, however, my simple words, “You’ve worked hard,” seemed to lift her spirits, and she was deeply grateful.
A wave of embarrassment and a pang of guilt washed over me. Even though I had witnessed the members’ tireless devotion to the gospel, I realized how seldom I had offered the simple encouragement, “You’ve worked hard.”
These days, I try to practice this language of love not just within Zion, but everywhere I go. In time, I hope it will become a natural habit, deeply engraved in both my heart and spirit.
