  • I am a choir member of the church, and it’s my duty to prepare sheet music for the choir.

One day, we planned to sing a New Song in Spanish for some members who were going on a mission trip to a Spanish-speaking country. I was tasked with transcribing the Spanish lyrics onto Korean sheet music. I wanted to get help from a member fluent in Spanish, but there wasn’t enough time and I had no choice but to use a translation tool. After listening to the pronunciation, I wrote it down, and later I found many pronunciation mistakes. Knowing how challenging it must have been for the choir members to practice the New Song in an unfamiliar language, I felt sorry for not being able to provide them with the accurate lyrics.

However, they comforted me by saying that there weren’t too many mistakes and they could correct them.

"It must have been hard for you. Thank you for your efforts. You've just started learning Spanish, but you've done a great job already. Thank you for your efforts to manage sheet music.”

I didn’t actually take on the task of preparing sheet music in the hope that someone would notice my efforts. But when I heard the words of love and thankfulness from the members acknowledging my efforts, I felt encouraged and grateful. I, too, want to encourage the members beside me with Mother’s words of love.
