I listened to the sermons that speak of the Israelites’ life in the desert and the distress of Moses who guided them. Studying the Israelites’ complaints, stubbornness, and sins, I thought, ‘How inconsiderate and ignorant the Israelites are of the sacrifice and efforts of Moses!’ Even though there were various problems caused by the Israelites, Moses always wished that they would receive God’s blessing and prosper in the promised land.
At that time I said to you, “You are too heavy a burden for me to carry alone. The Lord your God has increased your numbers so that today you are as many as the stars in the sky. May the Lord, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised! But how can I bear your problems and your burdens and your disputes all by myself? Choose some wise, understanding and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will set them over you.” You answered me, “What you propose to do is good.” (Dt 1:9–14)
Just like Moses, Heavenly Mother guides us, the spiritual Israelites, to the Kingdom of Heaven in this age. We always worry our Mother through our constant complaints, stubbornness, and sins, but our Mother eagerly wishes that every child of God in the world preach the gospel to the ends of the earth, fulfilling the prophecy, “The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation,” even though this would mean She has to make even more efforts for us.
Just as Moses set up leaders for the Israelites, Mother set up gospel leaders for each church. If we become mature children of God, who follow their guidance well, we can surely relieve our Mother’s burden in the desert of faith on our way to Heaven.
Mother, I wish to become a daughter of God, like-minded with You, and contribute to accomplishing the world mission.
