It reminded me of when I was a new member. I was amazed that God had come in the flesh, and every time I read Visitors from the Angelic World, written by God Himself, I was filled with awe. Every day, I was grateful that I could be with God in Zion, and I eagerly looked forward to the next day. His word truly was sweeter than honey. Even now, whenever I think back on those days, my heart still races.

I, too, encountered the truth when I had given up hope of ever finding God and was weary with discouragement. I was so overjoyed that, after studying the prophecies of the Bible, I could hardly sleep for ten days. I couldn’t believe that I was truly a child of God the Creator. And when I learned that Heavenly Mother was with us, I was so thrilled that my feet seemed to carry me to Zion on their own. Even now, those memories come back as vividly as ever.

As I read the story, I was deeply moved by the gratitude for salvation and the passion for evangelism that shone through every line. The words, “I am careful not to let my heart grow cold or to forget the weight of the blessings I have been given” felt as though they were spoken directly to me, leaving me feeling deeply sorry and ashamed. I, too, will begin keeping a gratitude journal again, giving thanks to God for every blessing, from the smallest to the greatest.
