Recently, I learned about a desert bird called the sandgrouse. Like a father who sacrifices for His children, this bird flies unbelievably long distances for the sake of its chicks, while carrying water. It bears the heavy weight in order to sustain the life of its family. Unlike other birds that keep their bodies light in order to fly, the sandgrouse absorbs water into the special feathers on its belly, making its body heavier. After flying long distances to find water, it soaks its feathers with as much water as possible and then flies back across the dry desert to provide water for its chicks.
Father came to this world, which is like a desert suffering from a spiritual famine (Am 8:11). He endured the heavy burden of life on this earth and gave us the water of life so that we may live and grow. I realized that I, too, should have the heart of a father who willingly endures the weight of life and sacrifices for his family.
God Elohim, who is the source of life, has given us this path of the gospel as a gift so that we may better understand Their heart and mind. I am thankful that Father set an example for us so that we can follow His path and understand His heart. I will become a child who delivers the words of the water of life with love and sacrifice to the dying souls who have not yet received it.
