The Ongoing Gospel Journey in the Czech Republic

  • I still remember when I first set foot in the Czech Republic, holding on to a single vision of overseas mission. At that time, there were very few preaching materials available in Czech. Everything felt unfamiliar—the language was new, and my experience was limited. Naturally, there were many challenges. Yet even those challenges became opportunities. Each time someone understood what I said, it felt as though I were witnessing God’s work unfold right before my eyes. Sharing the gospel day after day filled my heart with joy. Back then, the small house church in Czechia was in urgent need of workers to take part in the gospel work. After returning to Korea for a time, I came back with a growing desire to commit to long-term mission work. Since then, about thirteen years have passed, and my gospel journey is still ongoing.

As I began my long-term missionary work in earnest, I came to realize something unexpected. The areas I once thought I was doing well in gradually revealed their shortcomings. My unrefined character, my relationships with fellow members, and my responsibility and love in caring for Zion brothers and sisters—all of it felt insufficient. As time passed, I felt an increasing burden, thinking that I was not bearing good fruit. Watching others find our heavenly family, I constantly asked myself what I was lacking. There were even moments when I wondered if I should give up.

Then one day, I heard a Fragrance of Zion about the Dracaena, a plant said to bloom once every ten years. Though it may appear outwardly that nothing is happening, growth is still taking place beneath the surface. In the same way, I came to understand that God’s work continues in ways we cannot always see. Through this realization, I found renewed hope—that if I could endure just a little longer, God would surely allow me to bear fruit in His time.

Around that time, I visited Korea with the members from Czechia. When Heavenly Mother blessed us, calling us “great workers,” my heart overflowed with emotion, and tears filled my eyes. It felt like an answer to my long-held prayer to become a gospel worker—a prayer I had offered even before coming to the Czech Republic. At the same time, it brought me deep comfort. It reassured me that the path I had walked, and the path I would continue to walk, was not mistaken, and that I was on the right path.

The COVID-19 pandemic that followed did not become an obstacle. Although our gospel activities were temporarily limited, we chose to use that time to lay a foundation for the church. I devoted time to studying the word—something I had often neglected under the excuse of being busy—and also took on translation work to refine my language skills. Whenever someone showed interest in the Bible, we continued our studies through video calls. One sister’s friend heard the truth while living in another city, and later, when she visited Prague, she received the blessing of new life. I came to realize that even when it seems as though every path is blocked, if we look with the eyes of faith, God continues to open the way for the gospel.

On that path, I was finally able to bear the long-awaited fruit of perseverance—Brother Tomáš. When he first heard the truth about God the Mother, he gave a slight smile. At the time, I misunderstood and thought he might be taking the message lightly. Later, however, he shared that he had smiled because he found the truth so astonishing. Having been an atheist, he was deeply amazed each time he encountered verses that testified to the truth of the Bible. With a sincere and humble attitude, he carefully studied the word, and step by step, his faith in God began to grow. On the day he studied the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation and watched the introductory video about the Church of God, he was born again as a child of God Elohim. Since then, his faith has continued to grow day by day, and now he is faithfully carrying out the mission of a pastoral worker, dedicating himself to Heavenly Father and Mother.

Another person who deeply moved my heart was Sister Ira, who was baptized during a locally organized short-term mission in the Czech Republic. As soon as she came to understand the truth, she resolved to share it with her beloved family. In less than a month, she led her second son and youngest daughter to salvation. Although she was deeply distressed that her eldest son would not open his heart, she earnestly prayed for God’s help with a mother’s deep love for her children. In time, her sincerity was understood, and her eldest son also opened his heart and joyfully became part of the heavenly family. Even now, she continues to pray for her other family members who have yet to come to know the truth, devoting herself wholeheartedly to sharing the gospel.

Through these two individuals, I came to a firm conviction once again: when we persevere, God grants the most beautiful fruit at the perfect time. Through this, my faith was strengthened that the gospel of the kingdom will surely be fulfilled in the Czech Republic and throughout Europe.

As for me, by enduring this time of perseverance, I came to experience God’s providence more deeply. My faith grew more steadfast, and I was blessed to bear lasting fruit. There were moments when I felt alone, facing challenges I had to overcome on my own, and times when I felt burdened by the changes before me. Yet whenever I relied on God, Heavenly Father and Mother went before me and led me along a smooth path. Now, by God’s grace, I am caring for a pre-branch church while learning the heart of Father and Mother. These days, as I witness the work of the Holy Spirit unfolding more swiftly with each passing day, I offer my sincere thanks to God for calling me as a worker for the gospel in this age.

The Czech Republic is a stable and peaceful country, and many people are content simply living day by day. Seeing this, I long to share with them the hope for the angelic world and God’s promise of eternal life, so that they too may move forward with hope for the future. Until the completion of the gospel of the kingdom becomes not a distant future but a living reality, I will not give up, but will continue to faithfully carry out my mission as a worker of the gospel.
