This is something I experienced countless times while raising three children. Just as children come to understand their parents’ hearts only after they have grown, it seems that only as our faith matures can we begin to grasp even a fraction of the hearts of our Heavenly Parents. I am deeply grateful to Father and Mother for their boundless, warm love!

When I was young, I also felt overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being a child of God and saddened that I could not enjoy worldly pleasures. Reading this brought me to tears. Only now do I understand that Father and Mother were never taking anything from me and that Their rules were meant for my good. Knowing that God has prepared countless blessings for me, I will live without resentment and with grateful heart.

I felt my heart ache as I read this story. I found myself reflecting on my own immaturity—clinging to worldly pleasures while neglecting the spiritual, feeling frustrated when my desires went unmet, and trying to avoid difficult circumstances. I am truly sorry to our Heavenly Parents and profoundly grateful for their endless patience and unfathomable love.
