The food in our Zion is so delicious. It’s not because there is a special menu. Even ordinary soybean paste stew and seaweed soup are so delicious. Whenever I ask the overseer’s wife the secret of good taste, she always says, “It’s a spoon of love.” Then I jokingly say, “I guess the food I cook at home is not delicious because I don’t have love.” One day, I helped her cook in the kitchen. At that time, I saw her praying continuously, even when she added a spoonful of soy sauce and a pinch of salt. Then a member asked her, “Elderess, what do you pray for?” “I pray to God to help the food taste like it has been prepared by Mother, when the brothers and sisters eat it.” Whenever she said, “It’s a spoon of love,” I thought it had no special meaning, but it was really the secret of good taste. I guess it was Mother’s love that made the kitchen always feel welcoming whenever I entered it. That day, I learned how to gift the members of Zion with the warmth of love. As I learned, I will fill my heart with Mother’s love, wearing a gentle smile on my face, speaking considerately, and behaving kindly, so that I can deliver the warmth of love to my brothers and sisters.
