The Fuel of Faith

  • Before setting out on a long journey, I drove to the gas station to fill my car with gas. Thinking that half a tank would be enough, I selected that payment option. As the fuel began to flow, I started to daydream—and when I turned back, I was startled to see that twice the amount I had intended had already filled the tank. Thankfully, it had not overflowed. I had never realized the tank could hold so much. The automatic stop had always prevented it from filling completely, so seeing it brim for the first time left me amazed.

Afterward, the car ran more smoothly than ever. It was not until I had driven about 70 kilometers (around 40 miles) that the fuel gauge finally began to drop, showing just how full the tank had been.

This experience made me think of my fuel of faith. I had thought that completing the monthly online education and reading a certain number of chapters from the truth books was enough to sustain me. But what if I went beyond those limits—seeking God’s word more deeply and proclaiming it more fervently each day?

I came to realize that when I go beyond the limits I have set for myself and fill my heart with spiritual fuel, my faith can move forward more steadily toward the kingdom of heaven. I will study the words of God and share the truth more diligently, cultivating a faith that is full and steadfast.
