It all began with a small effort. I simply did my best to keep the gospel in mind in every situation and make the most of the opportunities God had given me. Before I knew it, God had placed me at the heart of His amazing work.
By God’s grace, I found a job that allowed me to work remotely. With a little more flexibility in my schedule, I began going out whenever I could to preach the gospel with a few sisters in similar circumstances. One day, after finishing our morning work at a café in Brooklyn, we spent our lunch break sharing the truth. There, we met a woman from France. She told us she was an atheist and did not believe the Bible. But as she came to see through science and history that the Bible is true, her attitude began to change. Once her doubts were gone and she came to trust the Bible, she eagerly accepted the words of the water of life. The very next day, she even came to Zion and earnestly studied the Bible.
Not long afterward, she had to return to France. Although we were now far apart, the distance did not become an obstacle. When the goal is clear, there is always a way forward. We stayed in regular contact online and continued studying God’s word together. Over the next two months, she was deeply moved as she learned about the Second Coming Christ and the new covenant. Then, she visited Zion in Paris on her own and received the blessing of new life. On the Sabbath that week, she attended worship and joyfully shared with the members in Zion how she had first heard the truth in the United States and eventually received baptism.
Some time later, she found a job in Luxembourg, which borders France. Although there was no Zion there at the time, I was not discouraged. Instead, I felt certain that God would fill the path ahead of her with blessings, and I wanted to share in that blessed journey as well.
Without delay, another sister and I set out for Luxembourg on a mission trip. My heart was filled with anticipation at the thought of caring for the new member who had just begun her life of faith and of finding our lost brothers and sisters there. In that spiritually barren place, we boldly proclaimed the good news of salvation. Seeing our earnest hearts, God allowed us to find eleven precious brothers and sisters in just three months. Before long, a beautiful pre-branch church was established in Luxembourg. I give heartfelt thanks to God, who shines the light of the truth and gathers each of His children who wanders in the darkness.
There is no telling when or how God will begin His mighty work. But one thing is certain: If we never lose sight of our gospel mission and do our very best wherever we are, God will lead us along a path of blessing. Holding on to that truth, I will continue to proclaim the gospel of the new covenant with all my heart and devotion wherever God places me.
